FAQ
What differentiates the Global-HELP Organization (HELP) from other organizations?
HELP was created to utilize new techniques in creating and distributing health-care information. We have had more than a decade of experience creating successful medical textbooks and health-care books, taking advantage of desktop-publishing technology. This technology allows the authors to control all elements in production: both the design and content, including both the text and illustrations. This process dramatically reduces the cost of the publication. HELP's objective is to create new health-care publications by utilizing this technology.
When was HELP established?
In 2002, HELP developed its basic philosophy and mission. The organization's infrastructure -- including its legal entity status, trademark, boards, and business plan -- was created in 2003. We are currently creating and accumulating publications for distribution.
Are HELP publications free?
Access and use of all material on the web-site is free. Written material such as books are available free for use in developing countries for only the cost of mailing. Printed publications are available through the Global-HELP Bookstore for use in developed countries at the cost of production and mailing. A donation to HELP is requested.
What formats are available for the publications?
All publications are available on this web-site as PDF files. Most publications are available in printed form, such as books, booklets, and posters.
May HELP material be copied?
Yes. Our objective is the widespread distribution of health-care material. Copying the material is authorized for non-profit purposes only. Any "for profit" purpose is strictly forbidden and considered illegal.
What percentage of contributions are used for overhead?
Overhead costs are kept to less than 10%. Board members services are completely voluntary.
Is my contribution tax deductible?
HELP is officially registered as a not-for-profit entity with 501(c)3 status within the United States.
